Thursday Thirteen 379: In a Friend's Garden

Didn't have much time to throw something together for this week, so I hope you will all enjoy these photos taken of a friend's garden. Another friend and I helped her with some massive weeding one weekend last month. It was a warm, humid day and you'll note raindrops on a few of the blossoms as we had some light rain or drizzle throughout the day. I'm afraid I don't know what all of them are, but have labeled those I do know.

These first two are of tall beard-tongue, a type of penstamon.

Clematis

Rose

Peonies

Honeysuckle

Wait. She has all these flowers going at the same time? Lucky bug. I'm already down to brown grass. We've had temps in the 100s for a couple of weeks now and Forest Fire Season has already started. It's way early this year.

Alice: Yes, she has all this and more blooming right now. There were quite a few plants I did not get pics of. We've had fairly mild temps so far, and just enough rain that everything is REALLY green. Fields of corn look like they're already waist high, and gardens are already yielding up fresh veggies.

Spectacular colors and they remind me of the upcoming fireworks!

Wow, what a lot of lovely flowers. Impressive.

We have some veggies, but spring was so chilly they started late and then the scorching hot days wiped out some. It's not going to be a bumper crop.

These are great. flowers are flowers, pretty no matter who grows em. My potatoes are up, and the onions but the carrots sprouted one day, I weeded out the grass and two days later they disappeared. sigh. no idea why. they were protected by an old screen panel, so it's a mystery.

One of them looks like bluebells, but i don't know if that's their actual name or a colloquialism. I love the peonies!

Colleen: She does have a wide variety of color, though heavily favoring purple blossoms.

Anita: It is pretty impressive. :-)

Alice: Sorry your garden is ailing. Doesn't look like it is going to improve any time soon, does it?

Mittens: Sorry to hear your carrots seem to have disappeared.

Forgetfulone: They're not bluebells -- those are spring bloomers long gone.
