Teaser Tuesday 276: Peach Pies and Alibis

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jenn of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current book or recent read.
* Share a few "teaser" sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

My teaser for you this week comes from another cozy mystery, Peach Pies and Alibis by Ellery Adams. This Is book two in her Charmed Pie Shoppe series.

The moment she touched the tree, a jolt of electricity passed through her body. It was so strong that she began to convulse. Unable to stand, she dropped to her knees and gasped for breath as the pain consumed her. It felt like her bones were being burned. Like her blood was on the verge of boiling. The feeling was so extreme, so intensely powerful that she couldn’t cry out. She couldn’t see, either. A searing light filled her field of vision.

(Chapter 3)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Series: A Charmed Pie Shoppe, book two

Ella Mae LeFaye’s Charmed Pie Shoppe is wildly popular in Havenwood, Georgia—which is not surprising since Ella Mae can lace her baked goods with enchantments. The shop’s extraordinary success seems destined to continue when Ella Mae meets an engaged couple who hire her to handle the dessert buffet at their wedding.

But Ella Mae has a lot on her plate. She is also searching for the origin of her magical powers—and hoping to determine if the spark of attraction she feels to the handsome Hugh Dylan is authentic or just her new abilities gone awry.

Then Ella Mae discovers a high-standing member of the community dead, and a wedding guest becomes seriously ill at the event she’s catering. Now she’ll have to use all her sleuthing skills and culinary talents to prove her pies don’t contain a killer ingredient . . .

Laurel-Rain: So far I have enjoyed the first two books in this series -- though it does make one long for pie, LOL.

Sandra: It was a good cozy, thanks!

Majanka: Aren't the covers for this series fabulous? Good books, but I do recommend reading them in order.
