What beautiful images! My daughter and I agreed this morning that fall is our favorite season. The air was brisk, yet not chilly, and the leaves are breathtaking hues of red, orange, gold and yellow. My parents are taking a vacation just to check out the changing fall foliage and take photos.

That one section of trail looks so familiar to me, but I know it couldn't be. Too much time has passed for the trees to all be the same. Is the prairie to the right and there a fork in the path that continues along the prairie on the right and a left that goes into the woods?

Thanks, lea!

CheeseSticks: Autumn has long been my favorite season. I love the color, the smell of the air and the crackle of leaves under foot. Love the name BTW. :D

Alice: These were all taken at Grady Tract, corner of Seminole Hwy. There is a narrow trail off to the right, but it's actually not a prairie, more of a clearing at top of the West Grady Knoll, part of the oak savanna habitat. While there are some prairie plants such as lupine, phlox, lead plant and puccoons (and asters in fall), there are a lot of plants not found down on Greene Prairie, as well as a lot of oak and sumac.
