Teaser Tuesday 298: Twisted Threads

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jenn of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current book or recent read.
* Share a few "teaser" sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

This week's teaser comes from the first book in a new mystery series, Twisted Threads by Lea Wait, an embroidery mystery.

Intro:
The day had already been the sort I wanted to drown in a cold beer or a bubble bath. Preferably both. And that was before I heard Gram’s voice, loud and clear as always, coming from my “missed messages.”

“Angel, it’s time to come home. They’ve found your mama.”

(Chapter One)

The bathroom door was open. Jacques was lying on the floor, his body jerking up and down.

(Chapter Fifteen)

Who knew needle work could be so dangerous? I'll keep an eye out for this one.

It can indeed. I'm constantly stabbing myself with needles or scissors. '-D
