Hey, this is really cool. I live in Wisconsin and I haven't been to many of these worldly locations. :)

Thanks, Mia! I've only been to three myself.

Thank. You! :-D

How convenient!

I once went on a trip in which we dropped straight south from Wisconsin, crossed Texas, then went north to Idaho, then back to Wisconsin. It took two weeks and enclosed four states. The next year we went north to Lake Superior, the east to Door County, then back to Madison. It took two weeks.

Wow. I wonder if other states have anything close. I was once in Chinatown in CA for so long (4 hours) that I had a minute bleed through and thought I was in China but didn't know how I got there!

Great idea for a TT post! Very cool. I think many towns in VA are named for places in England, Scotland, Germany, and Ireland, since those were our early settlers.

Alice: I haven't been west of the Rockies (yet!), but have been up to Lake Superior and Door County. '-D

Colleen: You can always try to do this with your state. It's interesting that place names in Wisconsin span the European continent, considering we were largely settled by German and Norwegian immigrants. We used to have a place called Little Norway, but it closed a few years ago.

Thanks, Anita! Would be interesting to see what you could come up with for Virginia!

Thanks, Ron!
