Though I read this week's featured book back in May, I have been saving it for this month, as it is rather seasonably appropriate. A Killer Maize by Paige Shelton is the fourth book in her "Farmers' Market" series, and is set at an autumn county fair.
The figure in the corn reached out, put one hand over my mouth and another around my waist, and pulled me into the stalks.
I panicked of course, but the first thought that went through my mind was, "I knew I should have stayed out of the corn maze."

The last person Becca expects to run into at the Swayton County Fall Festival is her ex-husband, Scott Triplett, who's operating a shooting gallery. I'd say it's about as creepy as you can generally expect from a suspense novel.
There was a LOT of action and creepy suspense in this particular scene. '-)
