Allegheny Sunset

Sunset over the Allegheny Mountains, 1998

At the end of a long day of driving, we followed a winding road through the Allegheny Mountains from Morgantown, Maryland down to Alexandria, Virginia. As we followed the highway, growing ever nearer our final destination, the sun dropped below the dark silhouette of the mountain behind us, rays of light piercing the clouds above and painting the sky a golden orange we couldn't resist trying to capture.
