Gazing Out on the World...

...Or at least out on Madison and the bustling Square below.

This photo of Payton was taken at the State Capitol last Saturday, when we went down town for Cows on the Concourse and CowParade. Since it had been a looong time since Heidi and I had been up to the Observation Deck, and her husband and our nieces had never been, we decided to make the climb -- and have been paying for it all week. Oh, our screaming calves! To reach the Observation Deck you first take the elevator to the fourth floor, climb a loooong flight of stairs, then mount a steep, narrow, metal spiral staircase. Trust me, the view is well-worth the climb!
