Recycled Christmas

One of the cards I made this week, using a card recycled from last year. I saved all of the cards that came to the office, figuring I could cut down some of the images to use for cards. One of them was covered in metallic green, red and gold ribbons and foliage -- a design definitely not suited to cropping, so I pulled out circle punches and the SU window punch. Punching close together I was able to get several circles out of the decorated card front, then used the word window for narrow scraps left over, et voila! The green background paper is by HOTP, and added red grosgrain ribbon and light green brads for trim.

Neat! You know, a lady here at work uses recycled cards to make little gift boxes she fills with candy and gives as little Christmas happys. Me? I shove all my cards in a box in the closet. ;-)

I usually keep all the cards I receive, too -- but like I said, these were ones from the office. I've already nabbed a couple of samples sent the last week to use too. This is something I've been wanting to do a while, and finally decided it was time to use 'em or toss 'em
