13 Signs of Spring...
1. The snow is melting, the ice is melting, yet people are still (foolishly) venturing onto the lakes and streets and sidewalks have become quite slippery, especially at night.
2. MUD. Everywhere. Just try to avoid it.
3. Potholes. With the constant thawing and freezing prevalent this time of year, many roads have turned into obstacles courses due to the plethora of potholes that seemed to have sprung up almost overnight.
4. Construction is springing up everywhere. In the past month we've received not one, but two, notices of the city's intent to screw up the Beltline HWY along the stretch near where I live. Great...another three months of hell. Like last summer wasn't enough....
5. Girl Scout cookies. The new lemon shortbread are particularly yummy.
6. Girls State Basketball...which was just last weekend, and one of the major reasons I avoid going to the mall during the month of March.
7. Boys State Basketball. Which usually means we're in for at least one more good storm before the vernal equinox. Blizzard or monsoon, you know it's coming.
8. NCAA Basketball Tournament -- let's go dancing! GO BADGERS!
9. Daylight Savings has begun, and it came three weeks early this year. And they wonder why people are always so tired...
10. Easter Candy. Mmm...Peeps, Cadbury Eggs, Dove Truffle Eggs -- 'nough said, right?
11. Canadian Geese are returning home, stopping to rest in fields where recently melted snow has left inches of standing water perfect for a cozy night's stay.
12. Robins and Red-wing Blackbirds begin to make an appearance.
13. It won't be long before tulips, daffodils, and crocus begin to peek above the layers of permafrost.

Feel free to keep our Geese! There are more than enough, so we're happy share!
Oooh Girl Guide cookies! I've never tried lemon shortbread. I like the chocolate mint ones. Mmmmm. I think they only come out in the Fall though.
Don't forget the goose poop, which requires a very sophisticated two-step to avoid! Tee-hee.
HILARIOUS. Just like freaking Cleveland...LOL - and yes, the goose poop sprouts here, too!!
Ah, number 9. I keep thinking something is wrong with me for all the sleeping I've been doing this past week.
Have to say there aren't many geese here. Yay!
absolutely hate potholes. Love the warmer weather though. ;-)
And don't forget the Reese's Peanut Butter eggs! Hope no one notices the first bag is already empty. >guilty look<
But of course...can't forget the PB eggs! ;)
