For this week's sketch challenge, SC118....
I almost didn't get this set and am now glad that I did. It is ideal for almost any situation -- birthday, mother's day, wedding, anniversary, sympathy, thinking of you...it's definitely going to one of my most-used sets. Earlier this week I stamped up a bunch of these flowers, then spent an evening coloring them -- some in yellow like this one...others in pink, red or purple. Tonight I finally sat down and started piecing some cards together. I'm doing a bunch of Mother's Day cards for troops to send home to their family members, and need to get as many done as I can by end of next weekend to allow time for shipping there and back. I used my new cling stamp set from Darcie's Country Folk to vary the cards so that some say "mom" on the front and some say "grandma." I will be keeping this particular one for my own Mom. Shhh...don't tell!
The main image is matted in a mustard yellow textured paper from DCWV's neutral mat stack. The designer papers behind it are from a free 8x8 paper pack I got at Archiver's called Spring Blossoms. The flowers were outlined in a dark yellow, then colored in with a lighter shade; three different shades of green were used in leaves and stems. Tiny holes were pierced on either side of the stems with a needle and floss threaded through, tied, and snipped to appropriate length.
