Teaser Tuesday 30: Plaster and Poison

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current read.
* Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

This was a great third installment to Jennie Bentley's "Do-It-Yourself-Mystery" series. I look forward to reading the fourth!

For a second, the world stood still. The only sound was that of Beatrice's labored steps on the stairs. I turned to her as she got to the bottom. "You didn't mention the gun."

I love how the last sentence is so short compared to the previous one

I love a little casual mayhem. Good teaser.

Alice: I love a little mayhem in general. *WEG*

lol. But you've got to admit, casual mayhem has a certain charming silliness.

That last sentence is a real grabber. Great teaser!

Here's my teaser for this week.

Heather said...

Alita: One would think, huh? LOL

Sarah: Yes, just a bit of an oversight. *g*

Beth: Yes, it was a fun book. I really like this series!

Laurel-Rain: Yay, a convert! And all the covers for this series are great.

Jan: If you like cozy mysteries, give the series a try. I've not been disappointed by any of the books.

Jana said...

I thought you might find it funny to know that with this post you FORCED me to buy all THREE of this series. lol

Heather said...

Amy: Thanks, I hope you check out all the books in this fun series!

Audrey: I hope this was enough of a tease to have you picking them up next trip to the library!

Marg: I've really gotten into cozies again the last couple years. There are some great series out there, and a lot of newer ones for those of us daunted by 10 or 20 book series, lol. Much easier to find the back list on a 3 or 5 bok series than a series that has been around for decades!

Heather said...

Jennie: You are most welcome, and thank YOU for visiting! :)

Heather said...

Lisa: If you like cozy mysteries, you might enjoy this series. It comes up fairly frequently in the "cozy mysteries" discussion at GoodReads.

Alice: True, it does. LOL

Sue: This is a fun meme, but be careful -- it can be extremely dangerous to your TBR pile. My book list just keeps growing! lol

Alyane: Thanks, it is a great series!

Heather said...

Lady Q: Thank you!

Michelle: Thanks, I hope you give the series a try!

BookSake: Welcome! Yes, this is definitely a fun series. Thanks for visiting!

Missy: Already enjoyed the book, but thanks!

Tweezle: The last sentence certainly gets your attention. Thanks for stopping by!

Jana: Forced?? Now that's a bit strong, don't you think? Hehehe... Actually, I almost sent you the first book when I saw a copt at HPB. It was right after you bought your house. Guess I should have gone with my instincts, huh?

sounds interesting! I think I have the first book on my wishlist to read. I love cozies :)

Heather said...

Jana: Of course you would say that. *snicker*

OkBoLover: I hope you'll pull that first book off the wish-list or TBR pile and give it a shot! :)

Marg said...

I know exactly what you mean about being intimidated by some of the longer series.

Hi Heather, kind of late commenting but wasn't around yesterday. This sounds like a good read if you've read 3 and anxious for the 4th. Sometimes by the 4th book, the series has fizzled! Enjoy your week in reading.
