Thursday Thirteen 232: Christmas Gifts

Two weeks ago I shared many of the homemade gifts I was giving for Christmas 2011. Here are a few of the things I was grateful to receive.

1. Two books by Patricia Cornwell, Isle of Dogs (Andy Brazil #3) and All That Remains (Kay Scarpetta #3); Sense of Evil (Bishop #6) by Kay Hooper; Holly Lane (Destiny #4) by Toni Blake; and Tombs of Endearment (Pepper Martin #3) by Casey Daniels.

2. Mary Engelbreit Day-to-Day Calendar.

3. Pail of homemade sausage balls from one friend—these were so good, they did not survive the week—and a loaf of homemade chocolate chip bread from another, which is almost gone. Soooo good!.

4. Chocolate: Lindor Dark Chocolate Truffles and Peppermint Bark. Mmm...

5. DVD: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part One (I have a feeling part two is coming for my birthday).

6. DVD: Monk, Season Three—received first two last year.

7. DVD: Psych, Season Four—now to acquire season five...not that I'm greedy or anything! *G*

8. CD: Christmas by Michael Bublé.

9. Four clear stamp sets, including “Trick or Treat” by Inkadinkado and “French Market” by Tim Holtz.

10. Two Tim Holtz embossing folders, “Artful Muse (3-pack)” and “Frame and Postal (2-pack” (for card making) .

11. Sizzix “Butterflies and Vines” border die and Martha Stewart “Spiderweb” border punch.

12. Four ornaments, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse glass icicles from Disney World, and two different snowmen.

13. Glass angel that lights up and is nearly a foot tall (sorry, forgot to take pic before I packed away the Christmas decorations).

Was there a favorite gift you received this past holiday season?

You have some wonderful TV and books in your future. I didn't get any presents, but hubby gave a hug. That's always special. :)

Wow H! You got a boat load of wonderful presents! GO you!

My favourite present is my Clinique Redness Solutions makeup. It's fixed my red face almost instantly! Love it!

My other favourite present was that my son and his gf did Christmas for us - so no work for me!

Oh, nice presents. I like the books the best--as you might guess. I got a Nook and I'm busy gathering friend's writings on it. :) Happy TT!

Shelley: Yes indeed! I'm looking forward to diving into both books and DVDs. And, since the Cornwells are third in two different series, I figure that gives me leave to check out this weekend's library used book sale. *g*

Maggie: Yes, a few people seemed to have spoiled me. And how nice of your son and GF to host Christmas for you!

Brenda: Books are always some of my favorite presents, no matter what the occasion!

Nice. Mine is probably my new LL Bean slippers, wool covered clogs. Of course, I picked them out myself.

Colleen: Sounds comfy!

That's enough to keep you entertained, for a little while anyway.

I loved that Buble holiday CD. And Sean and Gus on Psych are the best! Yet Cornwell is pretty dark after the sunny music and DVDs. You're a woman of contrasts, aren't you?

Heather said...

Alice: Maybe a little while, LOL. ;-)

Harriet: Definitely! You especially have to appreciate people who know what you would like. *g*

Gal: I do like the Bublé CD, and love Psych. It's one of the shows I miss most not having cable. And yes, my reading tastes do tend to vary quite a bit. I can go from a rom-com right into a dark thriller within hours of each other.

Great presents! Sounds like a very good Christmas haul!

My favorite present was a new camera from my hubby!

Nice haul. ;-)

Sorry about that third book in the series thing. My bad.

Anita: Ohhh! New camera--congrats. I know how exciting that can be. I've had my Canon two years now and am still in love with it.

Jana: No biggie. That just gives me valid reason to visit this weekend's library used book sale. They always have a ton of Cornwells, and older books are usually 50 cents, sometimes even as low as a quarter.

And yes, I know -- as if I ever need an excuse to go to a book sale. *G*

It would probably hold me all year.
