This week's teaser comes from a local author, and a book that has been in languishing in Mount TBR a few years now. Twin Killing by Marshall Cook is the third of four books in his Monona Quinn mystery series. This is the concluding paragraph of chapter five:
She's probably overreacting to a poor fellow down on his luck. She's been jumpy since her encounters with two killers in the space of three months, after all. He's no doubt harmless, she decides, as she walks to the truck to see if she can help carry in the food.
(pg 56)
ABOUT THE BOOK:
A Monona Quinn mystery
Books in the series:
1. Murder Over Easy (2003)
2. Murder at Midnight (2005)
3. Twin Killing (2007)
4. Obsession (2008)
Monona Quinn has struggled with fitting in to her adopted town of Mitchell, Wisconsin. With a health-conscious husband, the editorial helm of the weekly newspaper, and a knack for stumbling over dead locals, Mo hasn’t had it easy. But all her troubles seem to disappear when she gets a call from her twin sister—Maddie’s son has been arrested for drug possession in their small Iowa hometown.
Mo drops everything, including a half-finished fight with her husband, to be with her sister. And it’s a good thing, too, because as soon as she arrives, the Summersend locals start showing up dead. Someone is running a meth lab outside town—someone who’s willing to kill to keep it a secret—and Aidan’s drug troubles quickly turn to suspicion of murder.
Coming back home has Mo remembering her childhood, and running into some pretty familiar faces. Getting a little help from her high-school sweetheart (and newly-elected town sheriff), Todd Brabender, Mo fights to find the truth. With her keen instincts, strong family ties, and a little bit of magician’s patter, will Mo discover enough to keep her nephew—and herself—safe from harm?

Anyone who has had encounters with two killers would be a little jumpy. Or maybe a LOT jumpy! Now I'm wondering if the "poor fellow" is as harmless as he seems.
My teaser is here: Sandy's Teaser
Two murders is enough to make anyone jumpy!!
Here's My Teaser
No wonder she's jumpy! She better trust her gut.
Here's ours, we have two today: http://www.ourstack.blogspot.com/2012/04/tuesday-teasers-one-and-only-ivan.html
Yes, I'd definitely be jumpy, too...and with this particular lead-up, I'm thinking this guy isn't what he seems, either.
This one sounds tempting.
Here's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
Doesn't she watch horror movies? You NEVER assume someone is harmless. lol
My teaser is from Enchanted and can be found here
Sandy: Heck, I'd be jumpy after an encounter with one killer, lol. I haven't read far enough yet to determine if the guy is harmless or not.
Shelley: Indeed it is!
A scary teaser!

Karen & Gerard: Yes, you can never go wrong if you trust your gut.
Laurel-Rain: I'm sure we will have a run-in with this guy again. Glad I could tempt you!
Amy: I hope you will check out the earlier books in the series as well. Thanks for visiting!
Irish: Exactly! LOL *G*
Tribute: Little bit. ; )
As soon as I saw her name was Monona, I knew it had to be set in Wisconsin.
I think I woulMy teaser comes from a Josephine Tey novel.d be jumpy!
Alice: ROFL...Yes, such a name could only come out of Wisconsin. Other books in the series are set in a fictitious town outside Madison, and the second book was actually based off a murder that happened in the Town of Dunn.
Beth: I would be jumpy, too!
This does sound good. But I can understand how a book can spend time languishing on my TBR mountain. My teasers are from A Perfect Storm by Lori Foster and Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally. Happy reading!
Kathy: Sadly, too many books get lost in the TBR pile. Sometimes stuff gets shuffled about too much and something you 'meant' to read right away resurfaces months or years later.
I'd be jumpy too--nice selection. Thanks for stopping by.
