This week I am teasing from Aunt Dimity: Detective by Nancy Atherton. Looking back over the past three years of posts, I was surprised to see that I have never mentioned Aunt Dimity here before. How is that possible?
My family and I were three thousand miles away when the murder took place in Finch. We had what my lawyer husband called "a nearly airtight alibi." The fact that our twin sons weren't quite two years old made their involvement unlikely, but since I was—according to Bill—capable of arranging anything, anywhere, regardless of time and space, he was forced to consider me a suspect. I wasn't sure whether to be flattered or appalled by his boundless faith in me.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
This is book seven of eighteen in the Aunt Dimity Mystery series.
When Lori Shepherd returns from her trip to America, she is shocked to hear that Prunella "Pruneface" Hooper has been killed. This is the first murder in the idyllic village of Finch in more than a century, and everyone is in an uproar. Before the town implodes in the wake of this scandal, Lori sets out to solve the murder.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Hooper was sneakily flooding the town with gossip, rumors, and back-stabbing bits to the point where nearly everyone in Finch had a reason to want her dead. With the help of the ghostly Aunt Dimity and Nicholas, the enigmatic (and charming!) self-defense instructor, Lori aligns motive, means, and opportunity to unravel this delightfully tangled and gossip-filled whodunnit.
