Teaser Tuesday 195: Seed No Evil

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current book or recent read.
* Share a few "teaser" sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

I am finishing up another cozy mystery this week, Seed No Evil by Kate Collins. This is book number 14 in her "Flower Shop Mystery" series, and finally catches me up before book 15 comes out in February. I love this series, but do recommend reading it in order.

I had just moved outside the yellow circle of light when a dark figure stepped into my path about six yards ahead, blocking the mouth of the alley. At once my heart began to pound, and I felt a surge of energy that told me to flee.

(Chapter 19)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Book 15 of a series—I love this series, but recommend reading the books in order as they build upon each other. Some events won't make sense unless you've read the books in order.

It’s finally time to say, “I do!” As long as I can keep my mom out of jail long enough to get her to the ceremony....

Someone’s Biting Mad.

Abby Knight’s wedding is in less than two weeks, and everything is going wrong. The cooler in her flower shop is leaking, her neck has swollen to unnatural proportions, her groom is acting distant, and she still doesn’t know where she’s actually getting married!

But things go from bad to worse when the director of her favorite charity, Protecting Animal Rights, is murdered, and Abby’s mother becomes the main suspect. Abby’s wedding worries will have to wait until she—along with her fiancĂ©, Marco, and an adorable mutt named Seedy—can nose out who wanted the animal activist put to sleep. But they’ll have to sort through the long list of suspects quickly, or her mom may be tossed in the slammer before Abby tosses the bouquet . . . .

So she's got an over all arc going, eh? I learned all about having to read books in order recently.

Alice: Yes, there's an over-all arc in this series, and I do recall you lamenting the fact you read a couple of JR Wards out of order.

Kelley: Definitely a feeling I would pay attention to! ☺

Cute title for the book. Here's my my Teaser Tuesday.

Keri: This entire series has fun titles that play on words, for example: Mum's the Word, Slay it With Flowers, Dearly Depotted, Acts of Violets... The next book out in February is Throw in the trowel. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Laurel-Rain: I discovered this set of books about mid-series, and was glad I could read so many of them back-to-back. Only about a chapter to go on this one! ☺

Eep! Hope she's ok!

Autumn: Not to fear -- Abby always comes out okay in the end. :)

Some arcs handle it just fine. JD Robb are fine out of order. JR Ward - no.

I hear that!
