Teaser Tuesday 208: Dark Passage

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

* Grab your current book or recent read.
* Share a few "teaser" sentences from somewhere in the book.
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away. You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title and author so that other participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser!

This weekend, I started Dark Passage by Ridley Pearson, the sixth installment in his YA fantasy series, The Kingdom Keepers. Here's a few lines from early in the book.

Awash in disbelief and not trusting his own powers of observation, he briefly wondered if he’d imagined everything.

Or had he lived it?

Where did the potency of possibility give way to the power of persuasion?

(End of Chapter 1)

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Kingdom Keepers #6

The five Kingdom Keepers and their core friends have uncovered a startling truth: Maleficent and the Overtakers (Disney villains) are plotting a catastrophic event that could have repercussions far beyond the world of Disney.

Aboard the Disney Cruise Line’s inaugural passage through the new Panama Canal, the Keepers and their holograms uncover a puzzle hidden within the pages of a stolen journal. The point of that puzzle will reveal itself in the caves of Aruba, the zip lines of Costa Rica, and the jungles of Mexico. A destructive force, dormant for decades, is about to be unleashed. The five Kingdom Keepers are to be its first victims.

This is a new-to-me author. I think I'd like this one.

Thanks, Vonnie -- it's actually from the end of chapter one, but sets the rest of the book up nicely.

Shelley: My sister and BIL got me hooked on this series. If you like YA fantasy and Disney World, give it a try!

Great teaser. I like the alliteration in that last sentence.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment about my excerpt from WILD.

That's got to be the central question for a lot of fantasy.

Sandra: Thanks! I hadn't thought about the alliteration, but it does add something, doesn't it?

Heather said...

Alice: It could certainly apply to much of it, yes.

this one sounds good. Have you read the whole series?

Heather said...

Kelley: Yes, I have read the entire series, and have even teased a couple of the previous books here. Book seven (which I've heard is the last) is out this April.
