I've been reading a pair of older cozy mysteries these last few days by Wendy Lyn Watson — Scoop to Kill and A Parfait Murder. Here's a little snippet from the latter:
Something stopped me, mouth open, midword. My conscious brain didn’t register the change right away, but then I realized that the hokey sound track from the haunted rodeo had stopped. In the sudden and unexpected silence, a woman screamed.
(Chapter 4)
Book one in the series, I Scream, You Scream, was teased here in November 2009.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Genre: Cozy mystery
Series: Mystery a la Mode #3
Life has been good for Tallulah Jones and nabbing a spot on the judging panel at the Lantana County Fair puts the cherry on top. But when Tally’s cousin Bree spots her deadbeat ex-husband strolling the fairground with a vixen on his arm and a fat wallet in his pocket, all the fun goes cold.
Bree immediately files for back child support, but then her ex’s attorney is found dead at the fair, and things look more than a little sticky because Bree is standing over the body with a gun in her hand. She pleads her innocence and begs Tally to clear her sweet name.
Will Tally prove Bree’s innocence or will she find her cousin has committed the “parfait” crime? Either way, trouble is certain to be churned up . . .

Sounds light hearted and fun! Except someone's been murdered!

I hope the woman is okay.
My TT
Udita: Yes, aside from the murder part, it is a fairly light-hearted read. Thanks for visiting!
Vonnie: As if I'd tell... *VBG* Thanks for leaving your link!
I've been wanting to read this series. It looks so good. Plus, ice cream is involved :)
I love the imagery, suddenly realising the rodeo had stopped and then the scream - very dynamic. Good to hear you are enjoying this series. Here is my TT http://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2014/07/15/teaser-tuesday-july-15/
Anything with murder in the title catches my eye! And if it is a series, all the better.
Mine TTs are about mystery series more often than not, but this week it is non-fiction. Letters from Africa 1914 – 1931 by Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen) at http://wp.me/pZnGI-9x
Sounds engaging.
Mine this week is from the bestselling memoir “Twelve Years a Slave” by Solomon Northup:

Yvonne: You can't go wrong with ice cream -- or a series based on it. *VBG*
Cleo: Isn't that good? In only a few words you know something major is about to happen.
madamevauquer: I grew up on mysteries, and all the better if there are romantic elements.
PD: Both books in this series have been fairly fast page-turners. Too bad there are only three. :-\
Sounds like a delightful cozy mystery. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Laurel-Rain: Thanks, it's been good so far, and just got a whole lot more interesting...
great teaser and the cover is so fun too. Enjoy your book. How's your summer going?
Thanks, Kelley, the book has been good so far. Summer...it's been up and down. Long walks Sunday and Monday; gloomy, cold and rainy today.
Sounds like a fun cozy. Love the cover and title!
My Teaser Tuesday excerpt is from HEARTS IN RUIN.
How dramatic! Someone dead, I presume.
Sandra: It's been a fun series, and like you I like the cover and titles. And what better excuse to eat ice cream? *G*
Alice: Heh...you never know. ;-D
Nice teaser. I have a blogging friend who would love this. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Andrea -- I hope your friend enjoys the series!
